"El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie"

I was skeptical about a Breaking Bad movie. I thought, why? Walter White was dead. There's nothing more to say. Turns out I'm wrong. The 2010s will forever be remembered for Game of Thrones , but I want it to also be remembered for Breaking Bad . We got five seasons of Walt's antics. The spin-off series Better Call Saul is still going strong, and now we have a movie following Jesse Pinkman. I honestly don't know how Jesse will get out of the law, especially when he stares down someone in a duel, but knowing Vince Gilligan and all the raised stakes he wrote in Breaking Bad, I'm sure he'll get out fine. Of course there's always the possibility that Jesse may bite it too. In theaters: October 11-13, 2019 Released on Netflix: October 11, 2019 Aired on AMC: TBA Click image to view URL.

"The Irishman"

It's one thing when a relatively known two-time Academy Award winning director from Mexico upends your perfect world, but your own colleague doing the same thing should be enough to send you over the edge. Martin Scorsese returns with another gritty crime drama, which also serves as a weapon to get Netflix a Best Picture Oscar. The only thing I could make out was that the de-aged De Niro either ordered the hit on JFK or he did it himself and blamed Lee Harvey Oswald. There's always that mysterious fourth shot that rose from the grass. But you know what? I don't care. I can't wait for this thing to come out. In theaters: November 1, 2019 Released on Netflix: November 27, 2019

"Black Christmas" (2019)

Whatever. At first glance, before you start the trailer, you'd think it would be a Madea movie, or one of those black holiday comedies starring Queen Latifah and Taye Diggs. Instead, it's a rehash of  Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island . Sacrificing a sorority to preserve the college's soul? Come on, man, that's been done. (This was before I found out that it's a reboot.) Also, I am starting to get sick of horror, disaster, and crime movies taking place on Christmas. Die Hard did it, and it was awesome. But Die Hard 2 did it, and it was not fun anymore. What doesn't help is that we keep doing it. I Am Legend , Iron Man 3 , Silent Night Deadly Night , the one where Santa is evil, Krampus . Go ruin another holiday. There are no Thanksgiving movies. Start killing people then. Have someone light up near a Macy's Thanksgiving Parade balloon and explode a whole block. In theaters: December 13, 2019

"Jojo Rabbit"

I don't know what to say, honestly. It's like Taika Waititi took The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and turned it into a comedy. But aside from that, there really isn't anything we haven't seen before...except for the fact that the boy's imaginary best friend is Hitler. Take that away, it's a typical story about someone questioning their ideology for the sake of someone they care about. Fortunately there is a take in the idea that's rarely explored, and that is watching someone living and breathing everyday life as a Nazi. You normally would see that in a secondary character except for that one movie I mentioned earlier. I'm unsure if it's really worth the go or not. I'll get back on that. "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" D23 Trailer

What didn't help was that half of the trailer was just clips from the original trilogy. You don't need to remind us; we watched them so many times they are burned into our brains. Just because someone has red eyes and wields a folding sword that flips into a double bladed lightsaber doesn't mean they went down the dark side. Why must all the bad guys carry the badass lightsabers? Why can't the hero carry one too instead of an old clunky one that a tiny alien handed you? I know they can't release too much before the film's release, but this doesn't tell Jack squat about why they are rehashing Return of the Jedi for their "final" installment. It's not final, quit lying, Disney. You just dropped a trailer for The Mandalorian , and announced the return of Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan. The Skywalker Saga may be over, but you will keep Star Wars in theaters and on streaming services until the sun burns out of the sky. In theaters: December 2...

"The Lion King" (2019)

Yeah, I'm kind of whatever about this. What's the point of going to see it if it's a shot for shot remake? Unless they are adding songs from the Broadway musical, then it may be worth going. It did feel kind of off that the animals barely have any facial expressions, but it's nothing to get mad over. I guess it's a side effect to making a realistic movie with "live" animals. Other than that, it looks good, but then they had to ruin the majesty of it by having Timon and Pumbaa singing through the jungle. They totally could have done without that. "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker"

Oh, Lord, they had to drag Lando Calrissian back into this, didn't they? Oh, Lord, they had to drag the Death Star back into this, didn't they? Oh, Lord, they had to drag the Emperor back into this, didn't they? WOAH! WOAH! WOAH! "The Rise of Skywalker"? I thought this was supposed to end the Skywalker Saga. Does it mean Kylo f*cking Ren is going to be good again, hence the rise of Skywalker? Is he going to take up the name Skywalker and make it evil, hence the rise, and they have to be destroyed? We're never really gone...F*CK YOU! You were never really there. This was the easiest series Mark Hamill ever starred in with the exception of the Batman animated series. You say every saga comes to an end, well explain this. If the following link shows everything that will be made in the Star Wars universe, then the saga never really ends. This may be the end of the Skywalkers, but Star Wars will never fade away from the big screen. In theaters: December...
