"Dumbo" (2019)

This is different from anything I've seen by Tim Burton. There's no singing skeletons, no Johnny Depp mangling children, no Helena Bonham Carter bobble heads. But like other film adaptations, this film is far from the original source material. Dumbo was originally separated from his mother because she was violent to circusgoers. In this movie, Casey Junior and Company decided to take Dumbo away to make money off of his flying ability. Instead of Timothy Mouse and Jim Crow, the latter probably a good thing, Dumbo has two circus children to keep him company. I'm concerned because this movie is kind of a treasure to me despite being a little racist. While everyone else is b*tching about The Lion King, I'm complaining about this movie. I was not impressed with Beauty and the Beast , so I'm worried this will fail to capture the magic as well. Plus, Dumbo's paint in this one is giving me nightmares. "Where'd You Go, Bernadette"

This looks kind of fun. However, it's another movie where the person who has it all runs away from it all. Well, at least they aren't rich and famous, living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and she decides to move to Staten Island. I might go see this. It seems more uplifting than other movies like it. Plus, Richard Linklater, director of Dazed and Confused , is on the project, so I'm convinced. In theaters: March 22, 2019 Click image to view URL.

"Frozen II"

Can I just say this? You have got to be sh*tting me. I hope it was worth it to you people. So, Elsa is playing Jesus, and failing. Anna is killing herself, and then not. Kristoff is running with Sven and his Sven buddies. I have two theories for the autumn area we see above. One: They are meeting the Season Sisters, or Element Sisters, or something. There are more people with powers to control the environment. Two: Anna is the cursed, too. Her powers just needed an awakening. And that last bit where Anna draws Kristoff's sword? Third theory: Anna IS cursed but she's an enemy. She is possessed, putting her relationship with Elsa on the line. In theaters: November 22, 2019 Click image to view URL.

"Us"

I'm confused. The people attacking Jordan Peele's family is them. But why is the boy doppelgänger wearing a sack over his face? I think it's the white family they met on the beach. Instead of becoming black, like in Get Out , they are killing black and making it a black on black crime. Yeah, I'm calling blackface in 2019. Okay, so I guess the white family isn't involved because they are victims too. And I now know why the boy's doppelgänger is wearing a mask; they wears a mask. But why are they after themselves? It doesn't make sense. I'll probably wait and see what critics think of it first. In theaters: March 15, 2019 Click image to view URL.

"How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World"

The opening of this trailer is absolutely bullsh*t. In case you forget how this series began, click here . And here . Also, this is a copy and paste story from the second movie. Villain we've never seen before wants the dragons for his own reasons and Hiccup will do everything in his power to make it not happen. And you know you're in trouble when you have to help your pet get it on in the third installment. And how come the Hidden World is so Pandora-ish? Wasn't the Nest in the first one enough? Or the "Itchy Armpit" place where they found Mom? And where is Mom? Did we forget about her already? Can Hiccup and Astrid get married and have kids already? I'm tired. Do SOMETHING! Super Bowl LIII Trailers

This Super Bowl released a handful of new trailers and TV spots for movies coming out this spring and summer. Enjoy. Alita: Battle Angel Captain Marvel Wonder Park Avengers: Endgame Toy Story 4 Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw Star Wars: Episode XI Click image to view URL.

"Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" Super Bowl Trailer

What in the HELL was that? Just because they had one bonding moment in Furious 8 doesn't mean they get their own movie. Besides this franchise hit the "enemies working together to bring down a common enemy" nail on the head so many times that it's too far in the wall to hang a picture. Hobbs only saved the world three times, not four like he stated. I wouldn't call that last movie saving the world. Averted the crisis, sure, but Charlize Theron got away. I consider the world saved when the bad guy of the day is locked up or burning in the wreckage. Grim, I know, but that's how this franchise goes. Also, I thought Daddy's staying home to be with his daughter. Did she not want to be with him anymore. The movies never really explained his marital status. I assume he's divorced, not surprised, because the moms at his daughter's soccer game were checking him out. But with this now Daddy's gotta go to work business again, is she I  the picture?

"Wonder Park" Super Bowl Trailer

I think I saw this when I went to see Smallfoot . I don't know, it might be worth going to see. It's like if The Chronicles of Narnia  and Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium had a baby, put it up for adoption and Paramount adopted it. In theaters: March 15, 2019 Click image to view URL.

"Toy Story 4" Super Bowl Trailer

Nothing special was said except Bo Peep is back, Buzz is in trouble, and Key & Peele are involved. Lame. In theaters: June 21, 2019

"Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" Super Bowl Trailer

None of these spots told sh*t. Are they separate stories? Is it one story? That kind of defeats the purpose of scary storIES. I remember these books being in the book order at school growing up, but I never had any interest in them. All of these spots are boring as f*ck. Maybe I should read them to see if they're as bad as the movie is going to be. In theaters: August 9, 2019 Click image to view URL.

"Captain Marvel" Super Bowl Trailer

I was expecting another full length trailer, but instead we get a Kanye song quoted over and over again. It's very frustrating. My mother thought it was a Top Gun 2 trailer, and it did look like one in the beginning. In theaters: March 8, 2019. Click image to view URL.

"Avengers: Endgame" Super Bowl Trailer

The suspense is killing me. Again everyone's moping around about the death of the fallen Avengers. I heard it was supposed to be a tie-in or tribute to deal fallen soldiers. Seeing the trailer a second time, I sort of picked up on that. I'm still wondering how Ant-Man became normal sized again. In theaters: April 26, 2019 Click image to view URL.

"Alita: Battle Angel" Super Bowl Trailer

This looks a little more promising. But it also looks like The Hunger Games , especially since Mahershala Ali is involved. In theaters: February 14, 2019. Click image to view URL.
