"Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" Super Bowl Trailer

What in the HELL was that?
Just because they had one bonding moment in Furious 8 doesn't mean they get their own movie. Besides this franchise hit the "enemies working together to bring down a common enemy" nail on the head so many times that it's too far in the wall to hang a picture.
Hobbs only saved the world three times, not four like he stated. I wouldn't call that last movie saving the world. Averted the crisis, sure, but Charlize Theron got away. I consider the world saved when the bad guy of the day is locked up or burning in the wreckage. Grim, I know, but that's how this franchise goes.
Also, I thought Daddy's staying home to be with his daughter. Did she not want to be with him anymore. The movies never really explained his marital status. I assume he's divorced, not surprised, because the moms at his daughter's soccer game were checking him out. But with this now Daddy's gotta go to work business again, is she I  the picture? Did Mom take her away? Did the bad guys take her away? 'Cause then you need Brian Mills, not Deckard Shaw. Or perhaps maybe not since his own daughter kept getting Taken.
Idris Elba's character sounds like something out of a comic book, which is far and away from where this franchise began. It went from undercover cop to cop breaking the law, to out of place spinoff, to out of place reboot/prequel, to reboot/prequel/sequel, to reboot/prequel/sequel/sequel of a sequel, to sequel/trilogy(?), to buddy cop spinoff.
I'm starting to lose momentum with this franchise. Number eight should be it, except Charlize Theron is still out there. When we get to ten, 'cause you know we're going to "FasTEN Your Seatbelts", I'm calling it. Finish it!

Taking a Break!

Since theaters are closed and movie premieres are being pushed back because of the Coronavirus, I will be taking a break reviewing upcoming movies. When the pandemic subsides, I will return to looking at new movies. In the meantime, stay safe, avoid contact as much as you can, and stay home if you're unwell. We will get through this together. "Klaus"

Netflix must have read my post on The Christmas Chronicles because here comes another Santa Claus movie, and I'm rather excited for it. I kept having vibes of the early days of 2000s animation with films like The Prince of Egypt , The Road to El Dorado , and Fox Animation's Anastasia , so it kind of hit me there with nostalgia. It also felt like the remake of the Ranken & Bass story we deserve. If this doesn't get nominated for Best Animated Feature, I'll be very disappointed. "Us"

I'm confused. The people attacking Jordan Peele's family is them. But why is the boy doppelgänger wearing a sack over his face? I think it's the white family they met on the beach. Instead of becoming black, like in Get Out , they are killing black and making it a black on black crime. Yeah, I'm calling blackface in 2019. Okay, so I guess the white family isn't involved because they are victims too. And I now know why the boy's doppelgänger is wearing a mask; they wears a mask. But why are they after themselves? It doesn't make sense. I'll probably wait and see what critics think of it first. In theaters: March 15, 2019 Click image to view URL.
